A QUICKAND EASY WAY TO PICK UP A LITTLE HORSEPOWER THAT IS ALMOST FREE !!!

TECH INFO: Y-PIPE MODIFICATION

Here we'll show you a quick and easy little mod to the exhaust Y-Pipe.
As we all know 2-stroke motors respond very well to a better flowing exhaust
system. The factory Kawasaki exhaust Y-Pipes have quite a prominent "lip" where
the exhaust tube meets the inside of the flange, causing an excessive amount
of turbulence of the exhaust gases thus reducing the scavenging efficiency.

Removal of this "lip" and a little "blending" in this area could be worth quite a bit
of exhaust scaveging gain for a very minimal of effort and expense on your part.
We do not currently have a dyno to document an "exact" percentage of gain but,
be assured you will notice a difference !

Please remember you are working with very thin walled tubing. Although there
is a "bead" of weld on the outside of this area, DO NOT grind too far back into
the pipe or you may have to take a trip to your local welding shop !

In this "before" picture, you can see
the inside "lip" we are talking about.
Remember, a little does a lot here !

"After", you see how the "lip" has been
ground away and "blended" about
5/16th of an inch back into the pipe.

This little "mod" cost us a whopping $3.29 for a tapered
grinding stone, and all of 30 minutes total to complete !
